By this time Norman was getting a great deal of notice and even bigger commissions.

With big budgets came big ideas, and Norman was able to exploit his role as an artist to a degree never before possible. But the dramatic sculptural forms came at a price: the dramatic interiors were somewhat compromised functionally.

A few years later, The Peter Cohen house would become an even more extreme example of this disconnect. Many owners of Jaffe houses would refer to this as a "feature".
