stainless and stone stair (Miles Jaffe)

The first of the real pig-outs. Some called it an inverted aircraft carrier that had washed up on the beach.

This was a huge house for the time, top of the market, and we went all out for Eddie. He was a real character with a can-do manner developed as a supply sargent in Patton's army in WWII.

The interiors were all but ruined by decorator Michael DeSantis, who put a Y shaped sofa in the middle of the living room so you could see the ocean from one side, the bay from the other and the entertainment center from the third. Never mind that all your guests were sitting back to back. Norman was furious, and that's why the only interior shot is the stair.
